Welcome to all readers of this the Martinstown Cricket Club Web site. There is a vast amount of information (including our club newsletter ‘The Martinstown Cricketer’, available in the ‘news’ section of this site) available to the cricket fan and I ask you to browse the site to get a feel for the village club on your doorstep.

2010 will be a watershed season for our club, for the first time since 1988 the club will be in one of the top flight of divisions in the Saturday league whilst at the same time our young players can play in a new team in the bottom league; we all wish them well and look forward to watching them down at Ashton.

Our evening league side now firmly sitting in the top division proudly hold the Doug Read Knockout Evening League Cup for the first time in our history, while the seconds also had a very impressive 2009 season.

2010 will see the start of us using our recently laid grass tracks. This will be a big change for our players and they will have to adapt to the new conditions quickly.

Our youth section continues to produce quality players and this is essential to the clubs health; however the club can only go forward if adults put their names forward to help out with team management and coaching. We also need umpires and scorers, so please, if you have an interest on can spare a few hours in the fresh air please get in contact I guarantee you will enjoy the experience.

John O’Brien, Club Captain

We are always on the lookout for new players; we cater for a whole range of abilities and ages by operating two Saturday League side (Firsts Division 4 champions 2009, Seconds a new side for 2010), a Sunday/Midweek friendly team, two evening league sides (First XI cup winners 2009, seconds semi finalists) and a youth section ranging from soft ball (9 years) through to under 18s).

New members warmly welcome. We offer a wide range of cricket for all standards and ages. We also enjoy hosting touring teams (email: therealmcc@hotmail.co.uk). Nets start outdoor after Easter;.
